Steelers QB Kenny Pickett suffers concussion, leaves 1st career home start

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Beckett left Sunday's game during the third quarter and will not return to the game due to a concussion. The first-round rookie was selected by Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Devin White after he fired a pass from his area midway through the third quarter. Beckett lied on the field for several moments after the play ended, causing the official to signal the time-out and call the Steelers coaching staff on the field. Beckett eventually stood up to his strength and a coaching staff escorted him to a medical table/tent on the Steelers side. A short time later, Beckett left the tent and returned to the Steelers' locker room, with Mitch Trubesky replacing Beckett in the middle. Two weeks ago, coach Mike Tomlin hired Pickett to replace the ineffective Trubisky in the first half which ended up losing at home to the New York Jets. The 20th overall draft of Pete, Beckett made his first NFL start in a 38-3 loss to the Buffalo Bills last week. Beckett was 11 for 18 for 67 yards, no ball intercepted and a touchdown pass to Nagy Harris before he left Sunday's game. Beckett also had two lunges for 16 yards.
