(21 Jun 2016) Belgian police briefly suspended all metro services running underneath the heart of central Brussels on Tuesday morning. The suspension affected the Comte de Flandre metro in Molenbeek to Arts Loi metro near the Belgian parliament. The service interruption began after 9 am CET ( 0800 GMT) and lasted for several minutes before all metros resumed. Belgium's terror alert level remains at three, one step down from the maximum four. Belgian authorities took a man into custody early on Tuesday morning following a pre-dawn security alert at a major shopping centre in downtown Brussels. The security operation was launched following an alert about a suspicious package, according to staff at the City 2 shopping centre. Brussels prosecutors confirmed that a man had been taken into custody, but that no explosives were found.
