EMURIA KOLIAI; Adopted from the Iteso proverb, Emuria Koliai "Let the seed grow" is the title to Daniel Okiror's third album released in december 2014..It's an advocacy song for African music and culture.The African culture especially the Iteso culture, music and language is fast disappearing as its being replaced by western culture which the media portrays as modern..the result is a confused young African generation which doesn't fit in Africa and ironically still doesn't fit in the west..fulfilling another swahili proverb, "mkosae mila ni mtumwa" He who lacks identity is a slave"..Daniel Okiror is using Akogo to advice youth from Africa to appreciate their beautiful African dressing, education, language, music etc as the only way to fairly be competitive and relevant globally.
