JULY 12, WASHINGTON--Sen. Sessions hosted a colloquy today on the Senate Floor with Sens. Ron Johnson, Mike Lee, and Roger Wicker to address the need for a Balanced Budget Amendment, and the need for Senate Democrats to present a serious, concrete budget plan that can be reviewed by Congress and the American people. As Sen. Wicker stated, "the president's budget was a nonstarter. I think that if the Senate Democratic version ever were to be devised and brought to the floor, it would be a nonstarter, which is why we haven't seen a proposal in over 800 days." All four Senators urged openness in the debt ceiling negotiations, noting the talks have taken place behind closed doors.
