The Return Of Dorothy Counts
On September 4th 1957, Dorothy Counts Scoggins attempted to integrate all white Harding High School in Charlotte North Carolina. She was met with taunts, racial slurs, and physical abuse. The 15 year old girl eventually withdrew from the school and completed her studies in another city. In 2019 she returned to the Harding campus where she received a heroes welcome.
