One of the very first embroideries that I ever did was of wattle, Australia's national floral emblem. In this video, I show you the embroidery that I did in my first year of high school, and explain the stitches I used, including turkey work which makes a lovely plush pile. I also explain some of the things I would do differently, if I were doing it now. I also give an update of my website, and let you know about two new products I have for sale - new (to my website) sizes of broder cotton. Broder cotton, or coton a broder, is a lovely soft cotton thread that works up beautifully particularly for satin stitch. Episode notes: The wattle embroidery was based on a cross stitch pattern of wattle. It is more than 30 years since I did this embroidery, and while I would love to credit the designer upon whose design my embroidery was based, I no longer have the pattern or have any idea who the designer was. Nonetheless, I am grateful to them for their design. Coton a broder 25 and 30 - http://www.vettycreations.com.au/cata...
