RPG Review: DragonQuest

  / paulkidd   "DragonQuest" was an attempt by the board wargame publisher SPI to get into the role playing game market. Published in 1980, it was an excellent game that had some delightful features. The game never received the love it deserved, and is largely forgotten. Which as a damned shame, because it is highly playable. SPI's "DragonQuest" and Metagaming's "In the Labyrinth" were both published in 1980, and both games combined skirmish board gaming with role playing - features that echo into modern iterations of Dungeons and Dragons.
