Addressing the Liberals’ national caucus winter retreat on Friday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took aim at Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, accusing him of “exploiting” Canadians’ anger. Trudeau quipped that while Liberals’ were focused on policy solutions, the Conservative leader was encouraging Canadians to opt out of inflation by investing in Bitcoin “after he watched videos on YouTube about it.” “When you twist the facts or make things up for political gain, that’s not responsible leadership,” Trudeau told caucus members. “Mr. Poilievre has made a deliberate choice,” he added. Trudeau’s comments come after Poilievre, at a two-day caucus retreat with his own party, blamed Trudeau for the problems facing many Canadians, and said the prime minister was not able to see the way Canadians are hurting.
