1920 Pathé Diffuser Gramophone Taster - Billy Williams- Attempted Restoration, A Work In Progress First up my apologies for some of the screen changes, they are a bit hard on the eyes at times , lesson learned there :) This Pathé came to me in a bit of a sorry state and rather than replace the cone and lose the lovely Pathé logo I thought I would have a go at sticking it back together. I watched Blue Peter, I'll have a go. Nothing ventured ..... I know that it sure ain't pretty but it does play ok so that is all it needs to do really. I don't mind a battle scar, unfortunately this one was obtained due to bad storage by a relative with no interest in it. The record I have used is heavily worn and often skips when played so for a test run it's fine. The player uses an open air diffuser that plays to the whole room with nothing more than a heavy paper cone and a permanent ball sapphire stylus mounted at the centre tip that plays vertically cut records. Playing here is a centre start record from 1912? Thanks for watching :)
