The demo, which highlights Ciri and her horse Kelpie in the region of Kovir, demonstrates features like Fast Geometry Streaming, Nanite Foliage, and ML Deformer, all running with ray tracing at 60 FPS. The game is not expected to be released before 2027. Unreal Engine 5.6:The Witcher 4 is utilizing the latest version of Unreal Engine, which includes features like Nanite for high-fidelity foliage, Lumen for global illumination, and ray tracing. The gameplay demo shown during the event ran live on a regular PlayStation 5. Everything shown was in real time. It began with Ciri riding Kelpie through a foggy forest. Without any cuts, the game shifted straight into action, showing off the power of Unreal Engine 5.6. Ciri as Protagonist:The tech demo prominently features Ciri, showcasing her new design and interactions within the world. Next-Gen Visuals:The demo emphasizes photorealistic environments, detailed character models, and realistic physics, including muscle flex in Kelpie's movement. Open World Experience:The demo highlights the ability to load large open worlds with minimal loading screens, thanks to features like Fast Geometry Streaming. Details like mud sticking to the horse’s hooves or trees moving with the wind made the world feel realistic. NPCs reacted to Ciri walking past. It looked more real than anything seen in a Witcher game before.
