Woodturning - Another Flying Bowl - Ash knot [knot quite a burl]

Woodturning - Another Flying Bowl - Ash knot [knot quite a burl]

Despite breaking loose and flying off my lathe when it was nearly finished, this knot from an ash tree made a nice little bowl with burl-like figure. Knots can be a fun woodturning project when they have some cool grain, or they can be a major pain in the ass when there's no solid wood to be found inside. This one required a little extra attention to deal with some cracking, but in the end it wasn't too bad... although, it almost took a really bad turn (no pun intended) when I was finishing up the bottom of the piece and it jumped off the lathe right at me. --- Purchase My Artwork --- Interested in purchasing a turning from one of my videos? Do not attempt projects or techniques that are beyond your skill level or your comfort level! Serious accidents can happen in an instant and bandaging wounds or sitting in an emergency room is much less fun than woodturning. You are always responsible for your own safety. The only rules are: 1) Be careful; 2) Have fun.
