Go Shopping At The Dubai Mall Who wouldn't want to go shopping at the world's biggest mall? The mall is part of a downtown project that will cost $20 billion (yes, 20 billion with a B). It has more than 1,200 stores, so it probably has every store you can think of and a lot more. Number 7. The Dubai Marina And Jumeirah Beach Residence Walk This neighbourhood is the cleanest one I've ever seen. Every single brick in every building is carefully placed and kept up in a beautiful way. If you're looking for things to do in Dubai Mariana, this neighbourhood has a lot of high-rise condos, cafes, bars, more shopping malls, beautiful hotels, beach access, and a waterway that runs through the middle. I took a water taxi down the canal and couldn't stop staring at all the beautiful buildings. Number 6. Go On A Desert Safari Tour You can't go to Dubai and not go on a desert safari if you want to see beautiful places. As soon as you leave Dubai, all you'll see for miles and miles is blowing sand dunes. Package tours are sold by tour operators all over town. Most of the time, they cost about $50 and include a tour of the city, a ride on a 4x4 dune, a campfire dinner, and belly dancing. There are also tours where you can ride a camel, sandboard, and do a lot more. Number 5. Burj Al Arab Hotel The only hotel in the world that says it has seven stars is the Burj Al Arab. Even though there is no such thing as a hotel with seven stars, no one seems to question the Burj Al Arab because it fits the definition of the most luxurious hotel. This huge hotel is on its own island in the middle of the Persian Gulf. It is as luxurious as it says it is. Visit The Burj Khalifa (The Tallest Building In The World) The Burj Khalifa is not only the tallest building in the world, but it is also almost a thousand feet taller than the next tallest building. It has the fastest elevator in the world so that people can go up and down. This one is hard to miss, whether you go up to the observation deck or watch from the ground. You can avoid waiting in line if you buy your tickets to the top here in advance. Number 3. Visit The Dubai Miracle Garden Some people might think it's funny that the largest natural flower garden in the world is in the middle of a desert, but given how Dubai usually does things, should you be surprised? The garden has more than 45 million flowers that are arranged in the most amazing ways. Too bad I missed this, because the gardens are closed in the summer because the flowers can't handle the heat. Number 2. Old Dubai Market (Deira) In the last 40 years, not all of Dubai has grown. Go to the old markets to see how people lived before there were tall buildings and fancy hotels. This is the place to go if you want to buy traditional jewellery or a headscarf. There seems to be no end to the number of fabrics and spices. This will be the best place in Dubai to buy things cheaply. But remember that if you want to buy something, you almost always have to negotiate the price.
