DC's Absolute Universe and Marvel's Ultimate Universe dominated the December single issue sales charts, ending 2024 on a strong note. Per ICv2, the top-selling comic of December was Absolute Batman #3, with Absolute Superman #2 not far behind. Rounding out the top 5 were Ultimate Universe: One Year In, Ultimate Spider-Man #12, and Absolute Wonder Woman #3. And beyond dominating the sales chart for the third month in a row, DC captured 21 of the Top 50 slots on the list, the first time that's happened in well over a year. Marvel still nabbed 26 slots, but this is a great showing for DC since the beginning of the Absolute Universe, and the DC All In initiative. However, what that didn't really leave room for is any other publishers. Image and Skybound hit #14 with the latest issue of Transformers, and #23 with G.I. Joe #2. And IDW's latest issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hit #30. But that was it. With the Big Two once again ruling comic book shops, will there be room for a big third?
