A second batch of African Union Mission to Somalia troops have arrived in Adaado, the capital of the Interim Galmudug Administration. The troops will provide security during the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections. AMISOM is also deploying individual police officers who will work together with Somali security forces to secure the electoral process.The election of parliamentarians to the Lower House will begin once Galmudug finalizes the selection of delegates making up its electoral colleges. Somalia will elect a president, as well as a new upper and lower house of parliament next month.
