Recently, I’ve been thinking a LOT about the video games that were based on the movies and TV shows I grew up on as a kid. Movie tie-in video games feel like such a lost art, forgotten to time itself, but it got me thinking about the reverse of that, movies that are adaptations of video games, because those are very much not a lost art. It’s rare that we get good ones, but Hollywood seems intent on shoveling these things out anyway. But if we once had video games that were based on movies, and we now have movies that are based on video games... surely, at some point, those two things met together to make video games that were based on movies that were already based on video games to begin with... right?
