Healing? Enabling People to Be At Peace Sister Brigette Sipa 1 of 11

Sister Brigette explains why the Sisters of St Joseph decided to adopt the dress of the day rather than the traditional nun’s habit. She tells of their work in schools, nursing homes and hospitals helping others to discover who they are and the best that they can be and the healing and peace that people experience through Mary MacKillop Place. David Roy Green of WHEN whenworldwide.org interviews Sister Brigette Sipa, Director of Mission at Mary McKillop Place, Sydney, Australia. Born in the mid nineteenth century, St Mary MacKillop is the first & only Saint of Australia. In 1866, age 24 Mary MacKillop founded The Sisters of St Joseph of The Sacred Heart with Father Julian Tenison Woods. The 850 strong Josephite community are to this day, dedicated to Mary’s vision of poverty, providence & education. marymackillopplace.org.au sosj.org.au marymackillop.org.au
