On the other hand the Strikers find themselves fifth on the table with two wins and two defeats so far. They have drafted in Tabraiz Shamsi for this fixture leaving out Hasan Ali and Harry Nielsen. Shamsi’s journey to Adelaide has not been straightforward. The left-arm wrist-spinner even had to take legal action against Cricket South Africa to secure his release. While initially it was said that he sought permission to play in the International League T20 after getting picked by a franchise in SA20 Shamsi has now switched gears and opted to feature in the Big Bash League instead. Shamsi has been drafted in as Luke Wood and Jamie Overton will not part of the finals in BBL this year due to international commitments. The Strikers are fresh off a win over Brisbane Heat in their last outing. They put on a clinical bowling show as they bowled out Brisbane for a mere 121 in 19.4 overs. Jamie Overton bagged three wickets while Liam Scott and Hasan Ali got two each. Luke Wood and Matthew Short also bagged one wicket apiece. In reply Chris Lynn remained not out on 79. Matthew Short struggled for timing as he made 19 off 27. Mackenzie Harvey's run-a-ball 11 was enough to put the Strikers on the brink and Liam Scott's 7* off 5 helped them get over the line with 35 balls to spare.
