We welcome you to discover the Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center Difference. Banner MD Anderson brings together Banner, one of the country’s largest nonprofit hospital systems, and MD Anderson Cancer Center, one of America’s leading cancer care providers. Our programs integrate some of the latest research, education and prevention. We provide care based on the same protocols and practice standards of MD Anderson in Houston. We believe that successfully treating cancer is a multidisciplinary effort. When you refer a patient to us, our cancer experts from many specialties come together to provide highly coordinated, innovative, evidence-based cancer care right here in Northern Colorado. Through our Comprehensive Breast Program, patients have access to care from breast surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, reconstructive surgeons, nurses and therapists. Our focused expertise is on breast cancer, undiagnosed breast conditions, benign breast disease, and high-risk individuals. We offer services in prevention, diagnostics, treatment and survivorship. To aid in cancer prevention, we offer genetic testing and counseling, nutrition counseling, chemoprevention, surgical intervention when applicable, high-risk clinic, and tailored screening recommendations. When a patient is diagnosed with breast cancer, our goal is to offer the patient an appointment with someone from our team within 24 hours. Then the patient can be seen by our multidisciplinary team within one week. Our multidisciplinary approach includes direct access to a nurse navigator to guide them through the process, coordinated visits with breast surgery, medical oncology, and radiation oncology. Our patients also can meet with our oncologic psychologist, social worker, supportive care team, nutrition support, plastic surgeon, and genetic counselor. When a patient has a breast condition that has yet to have a diagnosis such as breast pain, rash, infection, or new lump, we offer an appointment in our undiagnosed breast clinics where they will see a provider and have the opportunity for breast imaging same day. We take pride in offering state of the art, comprehensive treatment choices including a robust option of clinical trials for our patients with breast cancer. Our goal is to provide the tools and opportunity for our patient to make an informed decision on next steps based on their personal goals of care. We offer comprehensive plastic surgery options including mastopexy at time of lumpectomy and advanced microvascular plastic surgery options such as autologous tissue reconstruction and lymphovenous bypass. An integral part of caring for patients with cancer is the care after treatment. Our survivorship program provides a comprehensive approach with integrative therapies, rehabilitation services, lymphedema therapy, exercise programs, health psychology, social work/case management, massage and acupuncture. We exceed the national benchmarks for all Commission on Cancer quality measures and our patient satisfaction scores for breast care at Banner MD Anderson are consistently between 90 to 100%. We work with our partners to help make sure patients receive screening and diagnostic services at the lowest cost possible. A key part of your patient’s care team is YOU. We have communication practices and protocols in place to keep you informed. We will collaborate with you on your patient’s treatment plan as needed. When your patient’s treatment is complete, we will refer them back to you and coordinate recommended care going forward.
