Practical stunts that will make you question physics - cars being launched from airplanes, highway chases that include military vehicles, and Dom doing the most ridiculous driving stunts imaginable - but somehow they don't seem ridiculous at all after ten movies of establishing his incredible driving abilities. For the first time in a very long time, you'll be able to truly connect with the characters and the emotional weight of what's happening around them. They are faced with their own mortality and the legacy they want to leave behind, as well as questioning if their "family" will survive this final war in tact. The chemistry between Johnson and Diesel comes alive with a competitive fire that has turned into mutual respect, and Statham brings his usual dry humor to some of the most chaotic moments in the movie. I believe that this will stand out from the rest of the franchise fatigue because, for once, there is an understanding that everything comes to an end - and ending on a spectacle that honors what made the Fast franchise great - ridiculously fun and entertaining action, but still tied back to a love between the characters, who were brought together through a series of traumatic events and seemingly impossible odds. You can expect to see references and cameos throughout the entire franchise, including characters that you may have forgotten even existed, and set pieces that will push the limits of what was thought possible to achieve - requiring the cooperation of multiple countries to complete filming. Fast & Furious is providing fans with everything they could have possibly wanted from a finale, and refusing to go quietly into the night - going big on the absurdity, while providing the emotional payoff that justifies the entire journey.
