Witness testimony continued in the case against Kim Potter, the former Brooklyn city police officer who shot and killed Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old Black man, during a traffic stop back in April. The state started today by calling Wright’s girlfriend Alayna Albrecht Payton to the stand. She was the one in the car with Wright when he was shot and killed by Potter. During her testimony, Albrecht Payton described in graphic detail the moments right before and after Wright was killed. Criminal defense attorneys Joseph Tully and Tony Thedford join Yodit Tewolde on “Making the Case” to discuss.
