Song: O Death Rock Me To Sleep Singer: Katy Rose This song came from Katy Rose's My Space and was later uploaded onto You Tube. Allegedly, this is a poem written by Anne Boleyn with the music composed by Katy. Here's a little bit of what Katy says (taken from her My Space entry) "So, as per what was already posted, this song was written by Anne Boleyn and me. There's been a lot of cruel and slanderous history written about Anne ( mostly propaganda conducted by King Henry 8th and Thomas Cromwell's people so that Good Harry could be rid of his 2nd wife- whom he had torn apart his country through religious reformation for- after she became too powerful in her own right and failed to give him a son.) Anne was actually an incredibly intelligent and forward thinking woman for her time. She dared to question the norm and speak her mind in a period where women were seen as little more than baby machines (...) the enigmatic Anne had a voracious mind and was a gifted musician and writer. I am a huge history buff, and Anne Boleyn has remained one of favorite subjects of research. I came across this poem of hers and was so moved, I wrote a melody and music to it. It was just a dorky, private venture I did for myself... but people love it so much that I am considering releasing it." Sorry for the awkward photos in the video. They were made by me when I was fifteen using rather cheap photo editing software. Kids, ey? LYRICS: O Death, rock me asleep, Bring me to quiet rest, Let pass my weary guiltless ghost Out of my careful breast. Toll on, thou passing bell; Ring out my doleful knell; Let thy sound my death tell. Death doth draw nigh; There is no remedy. My pains who can express? Alas, they are so strong; My dolour will not suffer strength My life for to prolong. Toll on, thou passing bell; Ring out my doleful knell; Let thy sound my death tell. Death doth draw nigh; There is no remedy. There is no remedy. Farewell, my pleasures past, Welcome, my present pain! I feel my torments so increase That life cannot remain. Cease now, thou passing bell; Rung is my doleful knell; For the sound my death doth tell. Death doth draw nigh; There is no remedy.
