2x BCM ELW Barrels, Do They Shoot the Same? 100-Yard 30-Shot Groups

/ prestonmooreyoutube   [email protected] Testing TWO BCM BFH ELW Barrels! In this video, I dive into a head-to-head test of two BCM BFH ELW (Enhanced Lightweight) barrels to see just how consistent these chrome-lined, cold hammer forged barrels really are. Both barrels were generously loaned to the channel in unfired condition, giving us a rare opportunity to inspect, borescope, and 30-shot group test side-by-side samples of the same barrel model. We start with a thorough spec overview, including BCM’s claimed benefits around balance and barrel harmonics. Then, I walk through detailed inspection procedures—including gauging, headspace checks, micrometer measurements, and borescope footage. Spoiler: there are some unexpected findings on both barrels that might raise a few eyebrows. For the shooting portion, I test each barrel with three types of ammunition: • Winchester 55gr M193 FMJ • Frontier 68gr BTHP (.223) • Federal Gold Medal 77gr SMK Each group consists of 30 consecutive rounds at 100 yards, captured with a Garmin Zero C1 Pro chronograph and a Mantis X10 Elite to track velocity and shooter stability. Results are analyzed using mean radius and my custom A-ZED scoring system, which estimates how far a group would still fit inside a USPSA A-Zone. How did the barrels perform? Was one clearly better than the other? Did the borescope anomalies correlate with real-world accuracy? Watch the full breakdown to find out. 0:00 Intro 0:17 Specs 1:20 Inspection 6:06 Shooting Setup 7:54 Shooting & Results 16:37 Overall Results
