The settlers threw stones and eggs at Israeli soldiers, as a protest against the army's plans for to build a high fence on the border between the Jewish and Arab neighbourhoods. Also in Hebron, Palestinians stoned the entourage of Israel's deputy army chief, Major General Matan Vilnai, forcing him change his route.
