National Genotyping Programme

Mark Waters from the HerdPlus team gives a run down on the basic principles of the upcoming National Genotyping Programme. Minister Charlie McConalogue announced the funding for this scheme during the week, and Mark is giving a run down of how the scheme will work. Herdowners will be invited to genotype their cows before the end of 2023, and the calves from these cows will be genotyped at birth over the next 4 years ensuring accuracy in the parentage and world leading traceability.
