Good morning everyone and welcome to the celebration of the Holy Mass on this the Feast of The Most Holy Name of Jesus. Today we honour the name of Jesus as it has been since New Testament times. In the reading from the Holy Gospel today, Saint John writes of when John the Baptist testified of Jesus, "I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him. I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water said to me, 'He whom you see the Spirit descend and remain is the one who baptizes with the Spirit.' And I myself have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God." Our Responsorial Psalm today is Psalm 98: "All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of our God."
