Pac-Man World (PS1) - Raw Gameplay

Back again with another 90 Minute Nostalgia session with a game from my PS1 collection. Today's choice is Namco's 1999 celebratory release of Pac-Man World. This game was released to celebrate 20 years of the original classic, Pac-Man. I never personally liked playing the original Pac-Man, but I could image for when it was released it was an amazing game. In fact, towards the end of this session I played the classic mode that was offered and really started to enjoy it! But back to the beginning - Pac Man World allows you to see Pac Man in 3D for the first time! On the 20th anniversary, his family gets captured and you have to go on a quest through multiple levels in multiple zones... like every other PS game then. As a youngster, I had played the demo of this game and from what I remembered, I really enjoyed it, so I couldn't wait to play this - I even bumped it up my queue of games to record (at the expense of Crash Team Racing - coming soon!). The graphics were great and the sounds all have a distant relation to the original Pac-Man games. I made 5% progress into career after about 70 minutes which made me realise that it's actually quite a big game! I was impressed with the precision in which you can jump Pac-Man. There's a few issues later on in the game where you're almost certain you'll land on "ground" but keep missing - very frustrating - but for the most part it was good. When I got my first "Game Over", I started playing the "Maze" game modes which were essentially the original games with modern graphics, set in the zones you'll find in quest, which were a lot of fun! Really pleased I chose to play this actually, certainly not a waste of 90 minutes, that's for sure!
