Work With The Disabled 05.09.16

Grenadians are being urged to give more attention to the care of people with disabilities as the Grenada National Council for the Disabled celebrate its month of activities. Social Development Minister Delma Thomas says that while people are challenged due to physical disabilities they are very capable in many other ways. GBN’s story of eleven year old Abel Mark was used to demonstrate the capability of people who are physically challenged. Abel was born with a severe case of scoliosis…which is an abnormal curvature of the spine. This week’s activities to mark the Grenada National Council for the Disabled month of activities include community outreach and Hamper Distribution to persons with disabilities in St David and St Andrew. The theme for this year’s activities is Leave no one behind for my disability is one part of who I am.
