Amtrak gets cool reception from Mobile council as Gulf Coast awaits passenger rail return - NBC 15

It's going to take a commitment of $3 million from Mobile city officials to get Amtrak passenger train service rolling once again between Mobile and New Orleans. Amtrak has already come to financial agreements with Louisiana and Mississippi to get the train rolling. Tuesday they came to plead their case to the Mobile city council. The reception, though, was far less than enthusiastic.
