The game was released in October 2013. It stars actors Ellen Page as Jodie Holmes and Willem Dafoe as Nathan Dawkins. In Beyond: Two Souls, the player takes Jodie Holmes, a girl that exhibits supernatural abilities, through 15 years of her life ( ages 8-23) as she journeys to discover the true meaning of the entity Aiden, a being that she has been linked to for her entire life. The game, which features psychological, spiritual, and thriller elements, is centered around questions about what happens after death. While we play as Jodie and the mysterious entity Aiden, other characters we'll meet along the way include: Nathan Dawkins, a government scientist who works with Jodie to analyse her powers, and acts as her father figure throughout the game; Cole Freeman, a U.S. government official who investigates paranormal activity; and Ryan Clayton, a government agent who takes interest in Jodie and her abilities.
