Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew said his side's second half performance was enough for them to earn a share of the spoils against Everton in the Premier League on Monday night. "The first half was as bad as I've seen us play under my tenure. We were a team that lacked belief. I've never set up a team to contain or draw a game, you have to win the game. The change at half-time with Demba [Ba], certainly his performance gave us belief, but everyone stepped on to Everton. On the second half showing we just about deserved a point, I thought. "I mean first half we were fortunate to come in 1-0 down, very fortunate. Second half we gave a really good account of ourselves with the team that we had. We had some big players missing and we are lacking a bit of rhythm and fluidity in our side. But you can't fault us for character and attitude and it was probably that which nicked us the point."
