Punjabi Shack Thali: Chole Curry, Fresh made Bhatura, Matar Paneer Tikka, Samosa, Bombay Mix, London

✓ This is our first visit to the "Punjabi Shack" guys and in this visit we watch the "Master Bhatoora Maker" making lot's of Bhaturas', the lady chef makes it look very easy, but it takes many years of practice and skill to get to this level of cooking. As you probably know by now, we absolutely love discovering secret stalls like this, a stall serving delicious restaurant quality, home cooked food; but at very affordable street food prices!!! But that does not detract from the delicious Indian & Pakistan "Street Style Food" being conjured up. It's a stall which reminds us of the Indian Sub-continent's pavement kitchens' that provide sustenance for its many inhabitants with the cheapest and tastiest of freshly made food anywhere. Reminding us of the street characters who create food that is blessed by hand and human touch and further energised and charged by positive thoughts. Roadside Punjab Dhaba style food cafes and restaurants are especially popular with Pakistani, Indian and Asian visitors alike in the Indian sub-continent. We had the fully loaded thali, which consisted of: Freshly made Bhatura, Chole / Chana Masala (Chickpea Curry with a thick tomato & onion gravy), Mattar Paneer, Punjab Samosa, Hot & Spicy Bombay Mix, Lemon and Mango Pickle salad with Red Onions. (Had the option of a red hot Green Chilli. Punjabi Bhature Puria is very similar to Gujarati Puri or Puria. The recipe here for the Puri (also spelled Poori) is a well kept family secret, this is Channa Bhatura at it's very best........ They are "street food troubadours" so if you want to know where they will be next, look out for messages of their schedule on their social media pages (or you could message them). If you have any questions you can message them via their various social media pages: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram: @punjabishack They usually have varying Desi Indian items on their menu which we didn't get to eat this time around, so we can't wait to pay a return visit wink wink!!! ;-) A special thank you to the Punjabi Shack team who very much welcomed us and graciously allowed us a privileged glimpse into their mobile street kitchen to do the videoing. (This video recorded at the "Gujarat Maha Mela" at Queensbury Park, London, U.K. on Sunday 12th August 2018).
