Somalia's drought leads to increased sexual assaults - Ayan's Story
Children throughout Somalia are exposed to sexual violence particularly with the massive displacement due to the drought. With Japan’s support, UNICEF is stepping up its response to gender-based violence. Six year old Ayan, who was raped by her teacher, is being helped by UNICEF's partner the Somali Women Development Centre with medical and legal assistance.
