CFMOTO 700MT Test. An amazing adventure!

Test drive of the new CFMOTO 700MT. A comprehensive Adventure bike with immense potential. To read the full test: https://motox.pt/cfmoto-700mt/ The CFMOTO 700MT is the third generation of the mid-displacement Sport Tourer, born with the 650MT, expanding this model's reputation in one of the most important market segments. An evolution of the proven mechanical base wrapped in a design clearly inspired by the larger 800MT. A look closer to European tastes on a bike that's more Adventure than ever! The Sport Tourer segment was one of CFMOTO's first ventures to elevate the brand's status to a higher level, launching the 650MT in 2017. It truly was a surprise! From the design by Gerald Kiska to the use of a proven engine—CFMOTO already produced one for the Kawasaki Versys—along with peripherals from Kayaba, Continental, Bosch, and Metzeler, the brand created the conditions for consumer perception to integrate it into the group of major manufacturers. In 2023, the brand significantly revised the model, and the name evolved to the CFMOTO 700MT, in line with the increased displacement. Improved performance and refined design increased its reach, remaining in the brand's catalog and close to the Sport Tourer segment. Now, for 2025, with this new CFMOTO 700MT, through the modifications made and the features it incorporates, the brand has truly created a new model, expanding its offering in the Adventure segment. The engine is based on the one that debuted in the previous version, although the 693 cc twin-cylinder has been converted to meet Euro5+ standards. Thus, the power and torque figures have been changed, now delivering 67 horsepower at 9,500 rpm and 60 Nm at 6,000 rpm. It is less energetic at high rpm, but maximum torque, although lower, is reached 500 rpm lower, which matches the new personality: a more adventurous personality. It is in the chassis, however, that the reason for this new attitude lies. The frame is the same, but the suspension is different from the previous CFMOTO 700MT. At the front, the fork is 43 mm in diameter, but the travel has increased from 140 mm to 150 mm. At the rear, the monoshock now has, in addition to spring preload adjustment, the possibility of compression adjustment, also offering more travel, increasing from 140 mm to 148 mm.
