Dark Souls PtDE - Part 10 - Darkroot Garden (Visit 2)

Welcome back, in this episode we visit Darkroot Garden once more but with the Crest of Artorias this time. If you defeat the Hydra the Crest is not needed but I wanted to buy it to make things faster. You should probably buy the Crest as well. That way you can easily farm the Forest Hunters for souls if you want some extra souls. If you enter the Forest Hunters covenant they become passive, so be careful not to hit them or you'll be marked as a traitor and you need to visit Oswald of Carim to request absolution. If you answer no to Alvina you probably have to visit Oswald as well for absolution in order to join. This area is a hotspot for PvP and I got many invasions this time as well. Sorry for cutting the last one I had alread stopped recording before he invaded. Anyway i clear the whole area including the Great Felines. (A good strategy to easily kill them is casting Tranquil Walk of Peace near them). At the end of the video we visit the Grave of Artorias the Abysswalker get the Hornet Ring and kill Sif. Poor innocent doggo. There is another cutscene for Sif (if you play the DLC before killing him here he seems to recognize you but will still attack you because you entered a holy place for him the grave of his master. This cutscene and the death of the Doggo broke my heart in my first playthrough, especially when he starts limping). Sorry doggo! :-(. ΝΟΤE 1: The invader who jumped to his death for no reason brought tears to my eyes :-P NOTE 2: This area is a higher level area. Don't expect it to be a piece of cake it will probably overwhelm you instead. If that's the case you could probably use the farming method for the forest hunters or just parry and backstab them and try to aggro them one at a time. Look what happened with the cleric and the bandit as an example. It was totally my mistake that i fought the bandit first as the heal miracle healed him when in range. As for Sif he has a lot of life and high damage but most of his attacks are quite easy to dodge and if you use a Balder Shield+10 or a shield with a high stability in general you could block all of his attacks with high endurance. If you are playing SL 1 or a low endurance build you won't be able to block his spinning attack. The second hit would break your guard but you can always block the first and dodge the second one. You should also attack him when you are under his feet where you are safe from all his attacks! If you still can't do it visit this area later. It will be less of a challenge with some advanced pyromancy spells or a fully upgraded weapon! In the next episode we are finally going to start our descent to reach the bottom area of Blighttown! Details about the Walkthrough: In this walkthrough I will play the whole game, DLC included. I will not use the duplication glitch to "clone" souls or items and I won't try to create a PVP build (more like a mixed one... Miracles Pyromancies, Spells and melee). It's just a walkthrough and maybe I will include some tips for beginners. I will write everything important in the video description as I am not comfortable with recording voice.
