Total War: SHOGUN 2 1vs1: Yari Kachi (FOTS) vs Naginata Warrior Monks Clan: Aizu vs Takeda Battle Difficulty: normal As with other traditional troops, Yari Kachi are available from early recruitment centers from the beginning of the campaign. In most ways, Yari Kachi are the best spear-armed infantry in Fall of the Samurai. They are superior to the other spear infantry in most ways, but have a weaker (but still substantial) bonus against cavalry. Their Rapid Advance ability can allow them to quickly cover distance to fend off cavalry or reinforce different parts of the army. They have better melee attack than any other tier 1 infantry, and coupled with the fact that they can refill stamina at will thanks to rapid advance, yari kachi are difficult to counter in the early game. As they are available from the most basic Traditional Dojos, but Katana Kachi and other melee troops are not, Yari Kachi are a passable substitute for these more specialized troops until enough money is available to upgrade traditional dojos. Due to their high attack skill, Yari Kachi fare very well against most missile infantry in melee combat. However, they have no ranged weapons whatsoever, and are hopeless in the face of rifle and artillery fire. They are best used when shielded by terrain or other men, closing the gap as quickly as possible so that they can inflict their close range damage. Naginata Warrior Monks have excellent melee statistics that are well-balanced due to the naginatas they wield. Like other warrior monks, they are a cut above samurai in terms of melee capabilities but suffer from poor armor, making them vulnerable to arrow fire. Naginata Warrior Monks compare most similarly to naginata samurai, but with better melee statistics and the War Cry ability at the cost of having much worse armor. The monks' War Cry can prove useful at critical points in the battle, causing enemy wavering units to rout. Naginata Warrior Monks are also a decent counter to cavalry, with their small anti-cavalry bonus augmented by their excellent morale, attack, and defense. They aren't as fast as yari samurai, nor are they as cheap as yari ashigaru, but they have the advantage of flexibility. Like other warrior monks, Naginata Warrior Monks are only available to non-Christian factions. Should a faction controlling Naginata Warrior Monks convert to Christianity, they automatically disband. However, metsuke of Christian factions can still obtain monks for their clan if they bribe an enemy army containing such warriors. When trained by the Date Clan, Naginata Warrior Monks have +2 charge bonus. Uesugi Warrior Monks are cheaper to recruit and maintain (at 800/175 instead of 900/200), have +2 melee attack, +3 charging bonus, and +1 melee defense. Ikko Ikki Naginata Warrior Monks have +2 melee attack, +3 charging bonus, and +1 melee defense. Unlike their Uesugi counterparts, Ikko Ikki Naginata Warrior Monks are not cheaper to train or maintain. However, they are easier to recruit as they only need a first-tier religious building, in contrast to other factions and their second-tier religious building requirement. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ My Discord channel: / discord My Friend's channel about Gran Turismo 7: / @carandlifechannel1473 #TotalWar1vs1 #TotalWar #Shogun2
