12News meteorologist Jeff Gerber will update us on the potential for tropical weather affecting Southeast Texas potentially as soon as this weekend as Tropical Depression 9 forms. The National Hurricane Center announced it is tracking Tropical Depression Nine in the west-central Caribbean Sea. MORE: https://www.12newsnow.com/article/wea... The 12News StormTrackers are keeping a close eye on this disturbance because it will likely have impacts somewhere along the Gulf Coast. As of Thursday morning, it had a 90% chance of development over the next 48 hours. It is trending west-northwest through the Caribbean. The overall track, intensity and final landfall remain uncertain, so we will want to watch this closely over the next few days as the models change. Invest 99L, which is in the Caribbean, will likely make it to the Gulf of Mexico this weekend. Atmospheric conditions are favorable for development. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Text APP to 409-838-1212 to download our free app and receive breaking news notifications.
