About thirty thousand Israelis gathered on Thursday night for a rock concert, to raise money for ethnic Albanian refugees. The concert was held at Rabin Square in Tel Aviv and entitled, "We of All People Cannot Remain Silent." The benefit concert and other fundraising activities have been organised by an army radio station. So far their campaign has gathered over four hundred thousand U-S dollars. SOUNDBITE: (English) "We decided that we must do something, so basically we decided the first thing would be to raise money and we've raised almost half a million dollars and we're expecting more." SUPERCAPTION: Gil Omer, Army Radio Commander Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that the country will take in 100 refugees from Kosovo to help alleviate the suffering in the former Yugoslavia. The families will arrive on Monday and will be placed in schools for six months, before they're given the choice of staying in Israel or moving on to another country. Meanwhile, anti-Serb protests are continuing in Israel. The "Green" movement is behind many of the protests and Israelis have been demonstrating against the policy the Yugoslav government has adopted towards ethnic Albanians living in Kosovo. On Thursday, red ribbons were hung on the gates of the Yugoslav Embassy in Tel Aviv and protestors threw red water in to the embassy's courtyard. However the ribbons were taken off by Israeli police and the demonstrators were forced to leave.
