China - Cohen and Cook meetings with Jiang Zemin

(20 Jan 1998) T/I: 10:32:58 US Defense Secretary William Cohen said on Tuesday (20/1) that Chinese President Jiang Zemin gave his strongest assurances yet that Beijing will not sell Iran more Cruise missiles or provide technology to upgrade existing Iranian missiles. As Cohen departed for Japan, British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook had talks with Jiang Zemin. It was Cook's first visit to China since Britain handed over Hong Kong to Chinese rule last July.
