Brexit deal: Almost inevitable EU judges keep Northern Ireland power, says Starmer

Sir Keir Starmer said it is "almost inevitable" that the European Court of Justice will continue to play a role in Northern Ireland's affairs under Rishi Sunak's new Brexit deal. He said: "We have been working on these problems for a very, very long time and we know what some of the solutions are. "It is almost inevitable that the ECJ will have to play some part in this. I think the Prime Minister recognises that, the Government recognises that, but we have got to make progress. "We owe it to the people of Northern Ireland to get on and fix this.
