Ohio Task Force 1 in North Carolina as Florence approaches

LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WKRC) - Two crews from Ohio Task Force 1 are in Lenoir County, North Carolina, to help as Hurricane Florence approaches. The crew, which includes firefighters from Cincinnati, is staying in a firehouse, waiting for the storm to hit. "This has been a little bit of a different event because we usually don't get there prior to the event happening," said one crew member. "This is the first time we've ridden out a storm waiting for the after effects, so the state of North Carolina was way ahead in their request for resources." The team has enough resources to last for two weeks, but they will adjust how long they stay depending on what's needed.
