Music written by: Mikhail Nekrasov Lyrics written by: Karen Kavaleryan Original (Eurovision version): • Zlata Ognevich - Gravity (Ukraine) 2013 Eu... Original (national final version): • Zlata Ognevich - Gravity - Eurovision 2013... If you've been wondering why I haven't done any other songs from Eurovision powerhouse Ukraine since the first year of this channel's existence (2018), this is why. My first attempt at making a metal cover version of this one dates back all the way to 2014. I tried repeatedly, but the outcome never quite matched what I was aiming for. Now that I'm the same age as Zlata was when she sang this song, I'm finally somewhat content with the result. So either this is indeed the hardest Eurovision song I've ever done - or my ambitions for this one were simply much higher than usual, because it's one of my all-time favourites. ^^ I combined the original version from the Ukrainian national final at the end of 2012 with the eventual Eurovision version that we're probably all more familiar with. Thanks to the third verse being in the same key as the second one, this allowed me to add a guitar solo over the same chords as the second chorus, and still end up in the right key for the bridge. Images taken from pixabay.com Sadly, there aren't a lot of royalty-free pictures of Avatar-Pandora-like floating rocks; however, there were all the more images of butterflies, pegasi, and unicorns. But well, it wouldn't really be Power Metal anyway without cheesy backgrounds, would it? ^^
