This video is part of IWAG's Impact Series 2021: LGBTQI+ people and experiences of SRHR in emergency settings. The Impact series 2021 hosted by the IAWG LGBTQI+ sub-working group and Edge Effect. In our four-part Impact 2021 webinar series, we invite you to join us to learn about LGBTQI+ people and the experiences of SRHR in emergency settings. Webinar One: Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for Intersex People Despite a large body of research demonstrating significant variability in biological sex, sexual development, and bodies, common understandings of human biology and sexual development are dominated by a binary model. In this model, people are assumed to display unambiguous and congruent characteristics that are either female or male. Although changing, this binary model has guided our understanding of sexual and reproductive health and rights. Join us to find out more about Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for Intersex People and hear why Intersex issues are important and necessary to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights – especially in crisis settings. This webinar is delivered by: 1. Lana Woolf (Webinar Moderator) is a founding Co-Director of Edge Effect and Chairperson of the IAWG LGBTQI+ sub-working group. 2. Julius Kaggwa is a prominent Ugandan activist and Executive Director of Support Initiative for People with atypical sex Development (SIPD) and has been awarded several prominent human rights awards. 3. Esan Regmi is the Executive Director and a founding member of Campaign for Change. He is a co-founder and current board member of Intersex Asia. 4.
