GHANA 2022 BUDGET:GOVERNMENT INTRODUCES NEW TAXES,SCRAPS ROAD TOLLS AND TARGETS 5.8% ECONOMIC GROWTH

Ghana is targeting economic growth of 5.8 percent next year as the country recovers from the economic shocks caused by COVID-19. But the estimate is slightly higher than the projections by the International Monetary Fund of 4 percent. The government has introduced new taxes in the budget for 2022 and says it will scrap road tolls to curb the traffic build up at stop points along the country’s roads to boost productivity.
