(11 Sep 2016) Hundreds gathered for the 9/11 anniversary observance in Pennsylvania, where one of the planes hijacked by terrorists crashed in a field 15 years ago. Sunday's observance ceremony took place at the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville. United Airlines Flight 93, one of four commercial aircraft hijacked by al-Qaida members, crashed into an open field in Somerset County, Pennsylvania killing all passengers and crew members. Other ceremonies were being held at the Pentagon in Washington D.C, where President Barack Obama was scheduled to speak, and at ground zero in New York. Nearly 3,000 people died in the Sept. 11 attacks, the deadliest on American soil.
