HALA'S HOPE Hala's Hope is a Nova Corps frigate currently tasked with patrolling the Quarantine Zone and assisting with peacekeeping in the surrounding sector. She is fully crewed with staff ranging from custodians to Nova Centurions, with Centurion Ko-Rel serving as her current captain. Like every Nova Corps vessel, Hala's Hope maintains a constant link with the Xandarian Worldmind through its bridge's Nexus Hub. The frigate is equipped with heavy Nova Force weaponry, both lethal and incapacitating, and has significant capacity for impounded ships and prisoner transport. While the presence of a Nova Corps ship is intended to inspire peace and hope, it also serves as an intentional display of power to discourage criminal activity. Given the lethal nature of the wreckage contained in the Quarantine Zone, Hala's Hope has one of the most important missions in the Nova Corps. Characteristics Notable places include Nikki's secret place, Ko-Rel's office, and the hangar... During her time as a resistance fighter, Ko-Rel and her squad fought against the Chitauri and were almost killed, but Peter Quill, Yondu Udonta, and the Ravagers helped Ko-Rel fight back. She fought alongside Quill for weeks and eventually became Quill's lover. When Mercury was finally liberated, Quill left Ko-Rel to pursue adventure with the Ravagers. Years later, Ko-Rel would join the Nova Corps and rise its ranks to become a Centurion and captain Hala's Hope. During one of her missions, she saved Nikki from the Kree and adopted her as a daughter. Personality Owing to her Kree heritage, Ko-Rel is tough on everyone around her and does not take kindly to being called out for it, especially by Quill or Nikki. Her no-nonsense-to-a-fault attitude is presumably exacerbated by her time with Nova Corps and her following their rules at any cost. Despite this, she is not incapable of being reasonable when the situation calls for it.
