Catholic Readings (Dec 24) | The Dawn is Finally Breaking

Wednesday of the Fourth Week of Advent (Mass in the Morning) | Christmas Eve The Benedictus (Luke 1:67–79) | Catholic Mass Readings Lectionary: 200 📖 Today’s Catholic Mass Readings First Reading: 2 Samuel 7:1–5, 8b–12, 14a, 16 Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 89:2–3, 4–5, 27, 29 Alleluia: O Radiant Dawn Gospel: Luke 1:67–79 — The Benedictus God promised David an eternal kingdom long before the King was ever born. The psalm proclaims that God’s covenant stands firm across generations. And in the Benedictus, Zechariah announces that the long-awaited dawn is finally breaking. On Christmas Eve, the Church stands at the edge of fulfillment — still waiting, still watching, still trusting. In this reflection, we will first proclaim the Mass readings in full, including the Gospel canticle known as the Benedictus, and then reflect on what it means to trust God when the promise is real… but not yet fully seen. What does faith look like in the final hours of waiting? What does it mean to hope when the night has not yet passed? Is this the night? Remain with the readings, then join us for a deeper connection and closing prayer as we prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ. 🙏 If this reflection speaks to your own season of waiting, consider subscribing and sharing with someone who may need hope this Christmas Eve. #Benedictus #Luke1 #CatholicReadings #ChristmasEve #Advent #OAntiphons #CatholicReflection #ConnectingTheScriptures
