Brother's conviction overturned in Leila Fowler's murder case

The conviction of a Calaveras County teenager who was found guilty in the 2013 killing of his 8-year-old sister has been overturned Thursday, and now the boy could face a new trial. Isiah Fowler was 12 years old when his younger sister, Leila Fowler, was found stabbed to death April 27, 2013, at her family's home on Rippon Road in Valley Springs. A judge found Isiah Fowler guilty in October 2015. He was charged as a minor, which is why there was no jury.
