#MOST #POTENT #MANTHRA #PRAYERS OF THE #VENDIDAT: #VENDIDAD Powerful Special Prayers designed for divine protection, purification of surroundings and eradication of evil; Invite divine protection in your life and your surroundings for removal of evil and negative forces, by invoking and chanting these most powerful prayers of the Vendidat. Do you know that the prayer, from “paat no tabaeshyantat to ashtavaitish ashahe”…. which we chant daily while performing our Kusti prayers; IS TAKEN FROM THE VENDIDAAD- HA VIII, -VERSE 21? Meaning : 'Oh #Mazda and #Spenta #Armaiti! Protect us from pain and injury. Flee Oh! Evil; Flee Oh! Origin of evil; Flee Oh acts sown by evil; Flee Oh acts increased by evil; Flee away Oh Evil, run away Oh Evil, Flee far away Oh Evil towards the North; So that you do not make the orderly material world chaotic and vulnerable to destruction’. The name of the Zarathushti text-VENDIDAT, is derived from the Avestan language “Vî-Daêvô-Dāta”, i.e: "Law & prayer Against the Daevas” (evil Demonic creatures), and as the name suggests, the Vendidad is an enumeration of various manifestations of evil spirits, and ways and formulas or manthras, to confound these evil entities. In every Avesta prayer, before we pray the manthra for the particular Gah (according to the period of the day), we pray: “ FRAVARANE MAZDAYASNNO ZARATHUSHTRISH, VI-DAEVO AHURATAKESHO”: Meaning: ‘ I profess myself to be a worshipper of Ahura Mazda, follower in accordance with Mazdasyasna religion, revealed by Zarathushtra, ABSTAINER FROM THE EVIL PATH OF DAEVAS, and act according to the law of Ahura Mazda’. Here Daevas are described in Avesta as: 1.Evil men, 2. Creatures producing diseas, 3.Immoral creatures, 4. Creatures decreasing prosperity in the World. - ( Ervad Kangaji) The language of the Vendidat is Younger Avestan. CONCLUSION : According to the Denkard, a 9th-century text, the Vendidad is the only extant complete Nask. It covers most essential aspects of the religion, like ethics, Navjote, Wedding, Manthra (prayers), rituals, Dokhma and Agyari-Atash Behram consecration. If the Community stays steadfast to these, nothing can harm our religion or the community, it is said about the Vendidat!. The Vendidad is intricately linked with the spiritual lives of the Zarathsuhtis. The consecrated ‘nirang’ that we drink before Navjot and Wedding, for purification of body and soul; is derived after the performance of the Vendidad ritual, which is a part of the Nirang-Din ceremony. The sacred fires, Agyaris and Atash Behrams are consecrated with the performance of the Vendidad ritual. The Vendidad also contains an account of worldly life, family life and religious life apart from the description of Ahura Mazda, Ameshaspands, Yazads and the spiritual world. An unbiased study can reveal the deep significance of this scripture. When Vendidad is performed in memory of a dear departed, the belief is that the spiritual merit or benefit of destroying the forces of evil through this ceremony is accrued by the soul of the departed.
