Last year, the Trump administration created a new policy called the Migrant Protection Protocols - more commonly known as "Remain in Mexico." In the past, many asylum seekers could stay with relatives or sponsors in the U.S. while they pursued their cases. Now, they have to wait in Mexico while their cases play out in U.S. immigration court. KERA's Mallory Falk interviewed several asylum seekers at the Pan De Vida migrant shelter in Juàrez, who are nearing or have already passed their one year mark in MPP.
