As cases of the Indian/Delta coronavirus variant rise in the capital, health chiefs are pleaing with young Londoners to get the jab this weekend. London’s public health chief, Professor Kevin Fenton and Mayor Sadiq Khan have both issued the urgent appeal. Confirmed covid 19 cases have soared among those aged 20 to 24 year-olds in some boroughs. All those over the age of 18 are now eligible and, vaccination centres have opened up across the city in the hope to encourage more young people to receive a first dose.
